Getting to Know You

Welcome to Richmond Second Ward!  Here are some details about our recent move-ins from over the summer. Don't be shy - say "howdy" when you cross paths! Bios and photos of the following new families to come!

The Christophersons

I grew up in Sugar Land, TX and my husband is from Colorado. We met at BYU-Idaho in 2008 and were married later that year.

My boyfriend in high school introduced me to the church and I joined in 2005. I am the only member of my family in the church.

We have two daughters, Mackenzie, who is almost 3, and Madelyn who is 10 months old.

We just moved into our first house and we're busy making it our own. We have so much more space than we're used too!

My husband is a mechanical engineer and works for Emerson. I am a pre-school teacher and work for St. Paul's School downtown.

In our free time, which isn't much with two little ones, we enjoy spending our time at the zoo, taking walks, playing games, and reading stories.

The Mangums

The Beals: Here is the Beal Family in a nut shell...I am Natalie. My husband is Quincy. We recently moved here from Virginia with a job transfer. We have 3.5 children, Porter-6, Tatum-4, Macy-2, and baby girl-due 1/14. We are thrilled to be here and we are loving the south and the warmth of the people. We are not enjoying the warmth of the weather though :) Something we will have to get used too. We can't wait to get to know this great ward family and get fully integrated!

The Crokes: We just moved here from Fort Mill, South Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina.  In our 11 years of marriage, we have lived in 7 states, 13 homes, and this is our 12th ward.  This is our second time in Houston.  It has been quite the fun, exciting, challenging adventure.  We have 3 kids.  Jayden is 7, Sidney is 4, and Tanner is 8 months.  They have all been born in different states, but they share one thing in common-they were all due in December, and we hit a Christmas due date with our last one.  He came a few days early, thankfully, and our first one came 2 months early, so between Halloween and Christmas, 4 out of 5 of us have birthdays.  It makes it a crazy, busy time, but we wouldn't have it any other way.  We enjoy the outdoors, taking weekend trips to see new places, Disney World, cuddling up to watch movies together, celebrating holidays, we love ice cream, and of course, our Savior.  We have never made a move without a prayerful decision, and this time was one of  the strongest times we have felt the spirit telling us to come here. We have felt so welcomed, and are excited to start another adventure here in Houston.

The Budds:
Bill and Valerie were born and raised in The Detroit area in Michigan! Bill is a convert and Valerie was born in the church. They have been married for almost 7 years. During that time Bill graduated from U of M and Purdue. We moved into Bradford Park in May for a job with Shell Oil. Bill works in Human Resources and Valerie stays at home with their three children, Cade 4, Kinsley 2 1/2, and Jude 8 months.

    Hi, Hola, Bonjour!
You might have seen us around church :) it's kind of hard to miss my 6'4 husband Joey, my very curious toddler Brayden, and my recently baptized 9 year old boy Ethan.
We were inactive members for a while, but thanks to the missionaries and my former student Matt DeCamps we were rescued and brought back to the light of Christ! We are happy now to be part of such a great ward.
We have quite a mix of cultures, languages, and jobs within our family to keep us pretty busy. My husband Joey is from Belize and speaks English, Spanish, and Creole. He is a former British Air Force soldier and volleyball player. Now his passion is horses..........I'm a High School teacher and Army National Guard officer and also speak three languages: English, French, and Spanish.
We love to travel to different places by road or airplane. And we also love Our Heavenly Father for keeping us together through our tough times as a family, as a couple.
Thank you all for welcoming us to the ward with your warm smiles! We love y'all also,
